electrical insulation

What is the electrical insulating material in the transformer oil?

Transformers are the familiar electrical equipment that plays a role in the safety of human beings. Insulating materials play an indispensable role in the safe operation of transformers. Today I will share with you the insulation materials used in transformer oil.

First of all, let’s take a look at its electrical insulating material.

The most used model today is the FR-4 epoxy board. This material is made of electric glass cloth impregnated with epoxy resin at high temperature and hot pressing. It has good insulation, high mechanical strength, easy processing, moisture resistance and high temperature resistance. After testing by relevant departments, this is currently the best insulating material for transformers.

The material of FR-4 epoxy board is described in detail below.

Generally, yellow and green are the two mainstream colors of epoxy boards. The colors look very natural, and the appearance meets people’s increasingly demanding aesthetic concepts. Moreover, its thickness ranges from 0.5 to 100 mm, and its limitation is small. According to different equipment and different needs, it can be processed into different forms of machining parts. This has important implications for its entry into the electrical and electronics industries.

Let’s take a detailed explanation of its performance parameters.

(1) Relative dielectric constant (50 Hz): ≤ 5.5; relative dielectric constant (1 MHz): ≤ 5.5;
(2) Water absorption (D-24/23, plate thickness 1.6 mm): ≤19 mg;
(3) Insulation resistance after immersion (D-24/23): ≥5.0×108Ω;
(4) Flammability: FV0;
(5) Parallel layer impact strength (simple beam method): ≥ 230 KJ/m.

The above has been introduced in detail from the material, performance characteristics and technical parameters of the epoxy board. I think everyone has some understanding of this material! If you want to know more? Welcome online or send email to us.Email is jiangqian@ztaero.com .
